Starting in 2027, foreign nationals will be able to officially declare their intention to move to the Russian Federation through the “Gosuslugi” public services portal 👍. This information follows from a relevant government decree reviewed by TASS.

The new initiative is aimed at simplifying and modernizing migration procedures by moving key steps online. Instead of relying solely on in-person applications and paperwork, prospective migrants will be able to submit their intentions digitally through Russia’s main state services platform.

Such applicants will be eligible to apply for a residence permit online, significantly reducing bureaucratic barriers and processing time.
